I Am My Own Visionary

SOUP TALK - I Am My Own Visionary!

Be Your Own Visionary

Often, people who want to be successful, envision themselves following the path of other successful people. The saying goes, "What you behold, you become" Emulation is the highest form of admiration.

I want to point out something important. The most successful people are unique in their own way. They are the visionaries, trendsetters, and conformity breakers of our time. They NEVER seek to follow the path of someone else. They forged their own path and often teach others to do the same.

As created beings, understand that you are unique. There is no one on the planet like you. This also means that you have the ability to put a unique spin on whatever it is that you create. We are created in the image and likeness of the sovereign creator. This means you too, have the ability to execute and bring to fruition the things you envision for yourself.

When envisioning success in your endeavors, ENVISION YOURSELF! Not Oprah, Diddy, Martha Stewart, Beyonce, or Jay Z. You have the ability to be the next VISIONARY the world will study.

Don't be afraid to take risks. Too much security begets complacency and complacency begets mediocrity. While things may not take off right away, persistence will guarantee success. Keep reinventing yourself. And don’t be afraid to try.

Take an inventory of yourself:

  • What is it that I would really like to pursue?

  • What interests me?

  • What are my talents?

  • What are my skill-sets?

  • What are my weaknesses?

  • Can I monetize my talents?

  • The interest that I am pursuing, does it make me feel fulfilled and/or accomplished?

  • Can my endeavor impact others?

Then, do the following:

Once you’ve answered your questions, try to make a visual of your inventory.

  • Seeing the interests you would like to pursue, will assist you in staying focused.

  • Seeing your talents written down, will give you confidence in your approach and pursuits.

  • Seeing your weaknesses should focus you in strengthening them.

Every day, set aside time to work on one or more of these things. Start making yourself a priority. It’s as easy as giving up two television shows three times a week. Then, cut perusing FaceBook news feeds to 15 minutes the other two days within the work week. You would be shocked as to how much CONSTRUCTIVE time you have just given yourself.

Lastly, understand and acknowledge other people's visions. Encourage one another as you would want to be encouraged. If you are able to contribute to their success, do so. What you sow into someone's life, you will reap within your own. Form a network of solidarity by supporting the dreams of those who have them. It's a priceless investment.

As Always

Be Blessed & Bless Others
